Product Design Developer & Merchandise Specialist
Responsibilities
The Product Design Developer & Merchandise Specialist will support the company in the research and development of products and accessories interfacing with Poltrona Frau R&D and Merchandise Group functions.
S/he reports directly to the Poltrona Frau Product Design & Development Director.
Main Activities
Analyzing trends for accessory and furnishing sectors;
Monitoring sales data for existing collections evaluating phase-out, restyling, range extensions and new entries;
Scouting of new suppliers for the external development of the accessories collections;
Analyze and identify price, cost and sales volume forecast characteristics for new products to be developed;
Designing new proposals with the support of external designers and/or suppliers;
Developing of prototypes with the support of external suppliers and the technical department of Poltrona Frau;
Provide all the information to support the Marketing and Press office for the creation of product catalogs and the conveyance of the correct product characteristics;
Provide all the information to the Commercial network for the correct understanding of the product characteristics;
Carry out digital presentations of the new collections to support the Brand activity and the Commercial network.
Supporting the R&D office for the development of new materials, finishes and colors to be included on the new project proposals (furniture, accessories and upholsteries) in compliance with the new color and material moodboar
Experience and Education
Bachelor’s degree in Design, Architecture, Industrial Design or similar degree;
Previous experience in leather accessories development will be appreciated.
Previous experience in high-end furniture or home-accessory industry will be appreciated.
Available to travel
Technical and soft Skills
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint and Excel);
Excellent knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and AutoCAD at least 2D package
Excellent level of written and spoken English;
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills;
Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
Team working and consensus-building skills, with ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams;
Highly organized and detail oriented;
Ability to work in fast pace environment;
Strong understanding of financial KPIs;
